Well done and BIG thank you to our Reception Parents who help make some amazing outfits for our Recycle Fashion Show today!
We have been learning all about God’s Wonderful World. This week we made bird feeders with Mrs Gillin to help feed the birds in God’s Wonderful World. We enjoyed scoring penalties against Everton on Friday. Lots of fabulous learning opportunities. RM has the World Cup Fever.
What a lovely week back in school. This week we had a teddy bear swap day. This was emphasizing the need to reduce, reuse and recycle. The children decided to swap their old teddies, we talked about giving some to the charity shop instead of dumping them. This provided the children with lots of writing opportunities. On Thursday we came to school in the unexpected wind. We used this opportunities to promote team work. The children worked in teams to create kites. They thoroughly enjoyed flying their kites then.
This week we have enjoyed being pirates. The children have produced some excellent writing. We are learning to subtract this week because someone keeps stealing our treasure. Arrrrr. We have enjoyed making recycling posters again this week. We are learning about the effects of littering and the damage to the animals and habitats in the ocean. Ask yourself, “How green are your feet?”
The children had a long break over the bank holiday. They enjoyed writing their news on Tuesday morning. This week we concentrated on writing stories. Some of these included robots. We explored robots for a few days following the children’s interests. We made robots with the shapes outside, the pipoids and used our scissor skills to make robot characters. Keeping inline with our project the children designed a recycling robot mascot. We will place these robots around school encouraging children and staff to be more eco friendly and recycle.

This week we looked at how we travel to school and beginning to investigate impact on the environment. We enjoyed the story of the Naughty Bus. The children really loved and engaged with the story. Fabulous story writing and role play. We once again discussed the importance of friendship. They made friendship bracelets for their friends.
This week we wrote letters to others classes explaining how to recycle. We discussed the importance of keeping our environments clean. This led to discussions on Liverpool as our environment. We learnt all about the landmarks. We wrote sentences about Liverpool and painted some of the Landmarks. We went a visit to Gillmoss Recycling Centre. We had lots of fun and learnt some exciting facts that we can share with our families. In maths this week we explored doubles and halves.
This week we have explored recycling. We had a wonderful visit from Liverpool City Council addressing recycling in the area. We are going to create posters to have on display in our local neighbourhood. The children have really enjoyed making their own recycled robots. They have used their phonic knowledge to write lots of recycling instructions.We enjoyed pretending to be superheros building city’s to save. We are doing our bit to Help Save The World!!!!
We have had a great start to our summer term. We introduced our new REAL project. ‘How green are my feet?’ We will explore lots of different avenues with this question. This week we introduced the children to ‘reduce,reuse and recycle.’ We went on a walk around our local neighbourhood taking notes to highlight any issues with the hope to reduce litter. We reused our milk cartons to plant seeds with our parents and we recycled to create junk modelling.
We enjoyed celebrating St.Patricks Day and getting to know our Irish teacher Miss Mc Glinchey. We danced, made hats, learnt facts and produced fabulous writing.
Easter Preparations and Learning. We enjoyed going on an Easter Egg hunt, lots of arts and crafts and talking about the importance of Easter. We enjoyed our school Mass with some of our Parents.

This week we have enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. We had special visitors to read us a story from CBBC. Our parents then joined us for a story on world book day. This week ‘Noddy’ the toyland detective replied to our letter. This led to some wonderful writing opportunities. Finally we enjoyed visiting the library and Wow Room.

This week we have had lots of discussions regarding our aspirations. The children have enjoyed having visitors to school to provide them with information about certain job roles.

This week we continued writing about The Smartest Giant in Town. We read the Story of Handa’s Surprise to teach the children about respecting others. Through this story we learnt some interesting facts about Africa. The children showcased all their wonderful work in Assembly. We painted, danced, role played and created some fantastic African music.

Reception is always busy busy busy! Lots of real life learning opportunities. This week we had the arrival of our 11 baby chicks. They children have absolutely loved having the chicks in class. We have learnt all about the life cycle and what they need. We built our very own chicken coops. We produced some high quality work on the Chicks this week, the children should be very proud. Secondly we had an Olympic Athlete visit us. We completed some exercises and learnt about the importance of staying fit and healthy. We finished off the week making fruit kebabs and fairy cakes. We aspire to be fit and healthy!! Have a lovely and safe half term break everyone.

This week we explored the story of The Smartest Giant in Town. We made a town with the construction blocks, we created our own Giants and we learnt how to rhyme. We enjoyed Dodge ball in PE this week. We have started Stay and Play again this term so I hope to see you all soon.

What a fun filled busy first week back to school after Christmas. First off we talked about our best memories of 2017 and made some new years resolutions. This week we also launched our ‘REAL’ project with our Paw Patrol aspiration dress up day.The children had a blast. They interviewed each other asking questions and learning all about different jobs. We built paw patrollers in the construction. There were lots of writing opportunities through out the day. One of the boys in RM brought a story to school that he got for Christmas. The story had him as a character. The children really enjoyed hearing the story and imagining they had their own characters in a book.

This week we had a wonderful time performing for our Parents and Family members. We are having fun getting ready for Christmas and will continue to next week. We have had a visitor in our classroom. It has been an elf. We are helping him to be nice.

What a lovely week RM have had. We wrote letters to Santa and the got to visit him. We really enjoyed our trip to Acorn Farm. Enough through we have had a busy week we have still worked hard on our 3D shape knowledge.We are beginning to use tricky vocab to describe the properties of the shapes. We can identify faces,edges and vertices independently.

This week we went a visit to the Church to re-enact a Baptism. We enjoyed the story of the Gingerbread Man. We completed some excellent writing and had fun on Friday with our Gingerbread men crafts and decorated our own edible Gingerbread men.

Phonic & Literacy Workshop with Parent.
We had a lovely time with our parents in school. We were able to show them our literacy and phonic knowledge. We worked very hard.

We had a wonderful trip to Hope University for a phonic workshop. The children were so well behaved.

Wow!! What a busy busy week in RM this week. We read the story of the Little Red Hen and based our learning around this story. We also learnt all about our senses. We put our senses to the test when we made our very own bread. We also went to the garden to test our senses in the Edible Garden.The children have settled excellently into school life and are a joy to have in class.

This week we read the story of ‘The Enormous Watermelon.’ The children have enjoyed acting out and retelling the story.They have even introduced some different characters to enhance the story. The children have settled into Reception life. Have a look at some children going on a phonic hunt around school. Lots of hard work this week. We also created a rubric to draw our faces this week and decorated a lovely canvas that will hang in the corridor welcoming them to Reception.

Hello Autumn. We have based a lot of our learning around Autumn this week. We went on sensory walks, enjoyed Autumn stories and had lots of creative opportunities. This week was our first experience in the Wow room and the children loved it. We also celebrated Judaism this week in Religion.The children enjoyed the story of Hanukkah and made their own Menorahs.

This week in RM we have learnt lots of facts about hibernation and bears. We have been so busy. We made some bear posters in class. We also learnt all about patterns. The children are very good at recognising patterns and creating their own. We enjoyed the story of Going on a Bear Hunt this week. We had a great sensory time in the Wow Room and we made our very own storyboards. We hope you all have a lovely safe break.
