This week we have enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. We had special visitors to read us a story from CBBC. Our parents then joined us for a story on world book day. This week ‘Noddy’ the toyland detective replied to our letter. This led to some wonderful writing opportunities. Finally we enjoyed visiting the library and Wow Room.
This week we continued writing about The Smartest Giant in Town. We read the Story of Handa’s Surprise to teach the children about respecting others. Through this story we learnt some interesting facts about Africa. The children showcased all their wonderful work in Assembly. We painted, danced, role played and created some fantastic African music.
What a fun filled busy first week back to school after Christmas. First off we talked about our best memories of 2017 and made some new years resolutions. This week we also launched our ‘REAL’ project with our Paw Patrol aspiration dress up day.The children had a blast. They interviewed each other asking questions and learning all about different jobs. We built paw patrollers in the construction. There were lots of writing opportunities through out the day. One of the boys in RM brought a story to school that he got for Christmas. The story had him as a character. The children really enjoyed hearing the story and imagining they had their own characters in a book.
What a lovely week RM have had. We wrote letters to Santa and the got to visit him. We really enjoyed our trip to Acorn Farm. Enough through we have had a busy week we have still worked hard on our 3D shape knowledge. We are beginning to use tricky vocab to describe the properties of the shapes. We can identify faces, edges and vertices independently.
This week we went a visit to the Church to re-enact a Baptism. We enjoyed the story of the Gingerbread Man. We completed some excellent writing and had fun on Friday with our Gingerbread men crafts and decorated our own edible Gingerbread men.
We had a wonderful trip to Hope University for a phonic workshop. The children were so well behaved.
Wow!! What a busy busy week in RM this week. We read the story of the Little Red Hen and based our learning around this story. We also learnt all about our senses. We put our senses to the test when we made our very own bread. We also went to the garden to test our senses in the Edible Garden. The children have settled excellently into school life and are a joy to have in class.
