Bird Watching

Every year, educators from every corner of the UK take part, turning their classes into conservation scientists and helping to track the ups and downs of birds across the country. We have been taking part in this year’s RSPB Big School Bird Watch. We got our coats, clipboards and binoculars and went to the bird hide to see what we could find. The children were so excited to see a range of birds such as Magpies and Wagtails. We had so much to talk about when we got back to class that we even made our own birdwatching corner from the window. Our investigative skills got us to question why do we see more birds on our edible playground but not on our outdoor classroom. We are continuing to be scientists to find out why.
