What attracts people to Liverpool?

Project Overview

This term our project will be driven by a study of the local history of our city. We will be learning about the Domesday book and King John’s charter. We will look at the history of Liverpool, in particular close by areas such as West Derby that was named in the Doomsday Book. We are looking at the impact this had on our local area – including the impact of existing building such as West Derby Castle, and new buildings that were built for government and guilds.

We will be completing local history field work activities during our Geography studies to see where these changes took place. We will be using maps, discussing settlements and creating birds eye view sketches of the local area.

Final Outcome

We will celebrate our learning by inviting parents to an assembly at the end of our project to showcase our work.

Year Group Information

Year 3 will have PE on Tuesday – they can wear their kit instead of their uniform every Tuesday.

Reading records (blue book) and home readers must be in school every day – we advise storing these in pupils’ school bags. Please make it a priority to read with your child and we ask that the reading record is signed by an adult.

Pupils are also expected and will be monitored online by class teachers that they complete regular practice on the following activities each week:
