We have been using the book – Here We Are; Notes for Living on Planet Earth by Oliver Jeffers.
We have learnt that the Earth is the big globe floating in space on which we live. Looking a bit closer, we discovered that the Earth is mainly made up of land and water and that the land is split up into continents and countries.
We looked at the shape of the United Kingdom and used Atlases to locate the UK and other land mases that we recognized. Children also enjoyed creating their own globe pictures.
