Welcome to Year 3 Chestnut Class Page

Does water give us life?

Project Overview

This term our project will be driven by a study of water. We will be learning about rivers in geography which will complement our English work that is based around a book called ‘Rhythm of the Rain’. We will further our water study by looking at how civilisations survived by their different uses of water – exploring how people in the Stone Age in particular used water in their daily lives. We will also discuss the health benefits of water through our DT study into healthy food, and our PSHE topic called ‘Healthy Me’.

We will be working on mini projects throughout the term:

Mini outcome 1: create an information text about rivers

Mini Outcome 2: Stone age information clips about daily use of water

Mini Outcome 3: Taste and evaluate healthy sandwiches

Final Outcome

Our third mini outcome will help us in our final task of creating a healthy sandwich of our own, which we will be inviting you to come in to our ‘Healthy Café’ to taste.
